Give a dog a bath....

Here's something fun for everyone.
Bath time...
for the dog.

If only giving her a bath was a short as this clip. I had bathed Ethan before her (this is after their puddle hopping, see the Spring entry), then her and then myself. Dog's shed A LOT when bathed. Ethan tried to help give Snickers a bath, that was fun...

First Foods

Sophie (who is now a little over 6 months) started on cereal at the end of March. She did very well with it and enjoyed it so much, she would pull your hand closer just to get it in her mouth faster...
Well, we waited until after she had turned 6 months to start some baby food. We started with bananas. I know, you're supposed to start with veggies first (blah, blah, blah). Well we started with fruit (because as we all know, we're a household full of fruitcakes anyway). Her reaction was not as expected....

I am glad to say that after her first introduction to bananas, she did gobble it up during her next feeding. She also likes sweet potatoes, applesauce, peas and pears.

Spring!!!

We wait all winter for Spring to arrive. And then it get's here, with all it's rain, and last minuet snow, and cold-warm-cold again days. But that one perfect warm rain with the sun and warm air right after is what pulls us all out of our hibernation den's into the first puddles of Spring.
That's right puddles. What would Spring be without puddles? Those big, wet, muddy water pits that just beg to be jumped in, walked thru, and bathed in (bird's & babies alike). So as I did, enjoy these first puddles of Spring with me.....

A New Addition

I know we're crazy! We have a (almost) teenager, a 2 year old, an almost 6 month old, and 2 cats. So we are crazy to add to our menagerie. Our lives are full and busy.
Merrick is now in track as well as starting baseball. He still has his monthly Student of Promise activity.
Ethan is as busy as ever. Getting into as much stuff as possible (and trying not to get caught). Sophie is getting to that I'm-gonna-roll-over-then-take-off-crawling stage. Soon she'll be walking and Ethan will be ready for serious potty training.
So on top of all of that we have a new addition to our family. A very unexpected addition. We have another girl. Her name is Snickers. She is 2 months old and is a lab-retriever-husky-shepherd mix.
The kids are already in love with her. When Tim brought her home this afternoon, Ethan was so excited. I thought we would have to remove him from the ceiling! He gave his daddy the biggest hug and was so happy. Sophie was also excited when Snickers licked her face and played with her. When Merrick got home, he was just as excited. She is a happy addition to our busy clan.

Of course, Ethan also thinks the kennel is a cool new toy. So he was busy bonding with Snickers in the cage.

Where has the time gone....

Where has the time gone? Christmas came and went soooo fast and now it's April! Merrick joined basketball and had a good season. He was on the 7th grade B team. They were a good team. Winning a majority of their games. We took Sophie & Ethan to a few and Sophie had fun watching the boys run from one end to the other. Ethan wanted to get out there and play too. It was busy, but fun.

Ethan was able to get outside into the snow for the first time in Feb. He is our outdoor boy! He loves being outside so much that when it's time to come in (even if he's frozen) he throw's a fit. However for almost an hour he was dressed in about 3 - 4 layers of clothes (no snowpants), with his pants rubberbanded over his boots to keep snow out. He had a blast!

Ethan turned 2 on Feb. 17th. He had a wonderful time opening all his gifts and playing with them.
Sophie had her 4 month check in March and then cut her first tooth on March 12th with the second tooth comming in on March 17th. At her last weigh-in she was 15 lb. 9 oz. We are so happy that she's starting to chunck-up. She's currently working on rolling over, but is having more fun with her feet.
This year is off to a wonderful start! Tim & I just celebrated our 3rd anniversary! It doesn't even feel like 3 years. I was soooo lucky to have him back in my life so that we can be where we are today. He is trully a most wonderful man!!!

Comming Soon

Okay, it's been awhile (almost 4 months) since my last posting. There was some problems (forgot password, got busy, etc....). I'm very sorry and I hope these photo's will tide you over until I can get caught up. Which I will do soon. After all, I've got almost 4 months to catch up on....
